A note on terminology: "compounded" GLP-1 medications are made by licensed compounding pharmacies and are not FDA-approved as finished products. They contain the same active ingredient as the brand drug, but the finished formulation has not been reviewed by the FDA for safety, efficacy, or quality. The FDA recently took regulatory action narrowing 503B outsourcing pathways for these drugs (FDA, 2025), and most reputable telehealth providers source from 503A pharmacies that compound on a per-prescription basis. If injections are a dealbreaker, the cheapest non-injection compounded semaglutide is Shed at $299/month for sublingual lozenges or $329/month for oral drops, both all-inclusive with no separate membership fee. MEDVi offers oral semaglutide tablets at $369/month on refill (with a $249 first month). Hers discontinued its $69/month compounded oral semaglutide pill in March 2026 after striking a deal with Novo Nordisk to focus on brand-name GLP-1s.
